The Secretariat is responsible for the day-to-day activities of AFUR. It consists of the Executive Secretary as Head of Secretariat and other staff as determined by the Executive Committee.

With more than twenty (20) years experience in business management, financial management and auditing experience.Debbie Roets I joined AFUR in June 2009 as a consultant and then took over the reigns in an acting capacity in August 2010.
I have a Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) from University Pretoria as well as a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) (BCom) form UNISA. I am a member of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) as well as a member of the South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA)
James Manda obtained his Master’s Degree (Msc) in Sustainable Energy Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden in 2005.
He has more than 14 years’ experience working in the Energy Sector. He worked at the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) in Zambia as Technical Director, where he was responsible for ensuring technical and operational compliance for Utilities operating in the energy sector. Prior to that, he worked at the Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC PLC) as Project Manager.
James is currently the Technical Manager at the African Forum for Utility Regulators, (AFUR), where he is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing technical projects.

Joined AFUR 2008 as consultant web developer. Responsible for the existing website http://www.afurnet.org. IT Specialist services including website hosting and administration.
